The most important part of Changemakers work, take place in the Local Groups. With local involvement you can show other people that an individuals' commitment can make a difference.
The Local Changemaker-Groups in Norway works in many different ways. The Changemaker idea is also often used in other contexts such as churches and schools. Some Local Groups focus on gaining knowledge about a particular country or topic, other groups work with several different issues.
Some of the groups are large, and other ones are small. In some of them you will find university students whilst other groups are dominated by teenagers from the age of 13.
We are proud of this diversity, and wish to maintain it. It is important to keep in mind that we can all learn from each other. There is no perfect recipe on how to run a Local Group. However, it is very important that all members of the group are heard when decisions are made.
We have many ideas that might be helpful if you are thinking of starting a Local Group. We can also get you in touch with others who have experience with Local Group work - just contact us!
